At Dave Loden Construction, we consider CSPE (commonly known by the trade name Hypalon®) to be one of the finest single-ply roofing systems ever developed. Unlike most roofing membranes, CSPE combines the best characteristics of both rubber and thermoplastic roofing.

Because it remains flexible throughout its life, CSPE provides outstanding resistance to hail, thermal movement, and weathering. At the same time, its seams are chemically welded together, creating a permanent molecular bond rather than relying on adhesives. Once completed, the seams become one continuous membrane, providing exceptional long-term watertight performance.

Another major advantage is its chemical stability. CSPE can often be installed over a wider variety of existing roof surfaces than other membranes and typically does not require an expensive cover board to achieve excellent hail resistance. This flexibility can make a premium roofing system surprisingly cost-effective over the life of the roof.

Burke®, our preferred manufacturer, offers warranties of up to 35 years, and properly installed CSPE roofs can often remain in service for well over 50 years. Dave Loden Construction installed our first Burke Hypalon roof in 1987, and that roof was still performing decades later.
